My voluntery activities on the IEOM BUET Student Chapter.

At the end of 3MT thesis competition, ResearchSpark 2026 [April 3, 2026]

My volunteer journey with the IEOM BUET Student Chapter was not a sudden decision. I was curious from the second year of my undergraduate studies. That's why I started my research journey. Although I have to acknowledge that I was not familiar with the IEOM society and its activities. Later, I was introduced to the IEOM Student Chapter of BUET.

My Journey, ResearchSpark 2026 and so on.

At the end of 2025, I engaged with the IEOM student chapter of BUET. I was familiar with the IEOM Society prior to that time through my publications in their venue at the 2024 Bangladesh IEOM conference. At the end of the previous panel's tenure, I applied to volunteer for the club. My two friends, Tirthojit Das and Shatabdi Sen Prapti, were the newly appointed general secretary and president of the club, and they helped me a lot to engage me with the club members, as I was introverted by nature. They also introduced me to the club members.

They are great leaders, I would say. They solo-organized the 3MT competition, ResearchSpark 2026, and other online events and revived the almost dead club at the beginning of their tenure. I helped them with my ideas and decision planning. I wouldn't say I worked at my best for 3MT; nevertheless, I was responsible for judge management and maintaining the proper communication with the judges and participants. And it was quite unexpected to have 90+ teams registered at the deadline, as it was the first event in the IPE history. Consequently, we were very excited. I initially designed the rules, submission criteria, and marking criteria for judges and helped in judge management.

The event was a great initiative that helped the students to showcase their research potential and innovative ideas. It was a great learning experience for me as well. I learned a lot about event management and teamwork.
